This is an M&Co. poster designed by my wife Emily Oberman to promote the 1988 release of Naked by the Talking Heads.
It was designed (with heavy paper stock and vertical scoring) to hang in record stores as an accordion fold. So at different angles, you would see the band or the album cover, depending on which side of the poster you were standing.
I got this from Emily right after we first met in 1996. Here my interest in acquiring posters happened to overlap with my trying to get a date.
Watch her Bill’s Design talk wherein the love of my life talks about her work/life in collaboration (from her parents, to Tibor, to her former partner Bonnie, to her new partners at Pentagram). It’s very sweet.
